Fashion Fridays: Wild Child.

One thing I learned this week is to stop taking life so seriously. This lesson is one that I myself need to really embrace. I tend to be a total Chicken Little type who, when things go a bit wrong, tends to run round screaming “the sky is falling, the sky is falling”– and then things almost always work out fine anyways and I wonder why I wasted so much time getting so stressed out. Life is way too short to freak out about things that are inconsequential and unimportant. And it’s too short to not have fun with it. Especially when it comes to dressing (wow, I didn’t think I could link deep life lessons and fashion in one swift sentence…go me)
Like I’ve said before I want to stop playing it so safe and try new things out- why not? I saw this DVF tiger dress the other day and it made me smile. It’s so not something I would typically buy (tiger print yes, an actual TIGER on a dress, no). So last night I saw it again online and thought I’d put an outfit together using it. Why not? And I actually love it!

Have some fun this weekend- don’t think too much and just do something silly that you’ve never done before (or wear something you never thought you would).
Like I said, life’s too short not too.

  1. That's a fabulous dress!…I think it would be impossible NOT to have fun wearing it. You're absolutely right about life being too short… and it's terrible that you've been reminded of that in such a tragic way. Please accept my condolences and try to have a quiet, worry-free weekend. (and tell me how you're going to get someone to carry that chair and chandelier around with you while you wear the dress!… they suit it perfectly and should be permanent parts of the ensemble)

  2. wise words. :)
i just love that DVF dress! haven't seen it online yet. i just may have to have it. i have several of her printed "vintage" style wrap dresses and tops, and never tire of them.

  3. You are so talented! That dress is totally something I would not wear, (although after what you said I just might!) but the outfit you put together is stunning! Such a great post. I know its so hard to not stress out but you are so right, life is to short to be stressing. =)

  4. Thanks you made my weekend! Seriously, it's easy to get stressed and caught up. And, I love your blog, too!

  5. I think I'm a lot like you – stressed out too often & wasting a LOT or energy in the process. This is a really fun outfit – but I don't think I'd be brave to wear it. I'd love to rock those shoes, though :)

  6. Leave it to DVF to have a "not so safe" dress like that. Rrrrwarrr…
    Loving it!

  7. I love it and I love your entire look! You have a great sense of style. And thanks for the reminder to have some fun…these days it can be hard to come by but its so necessary! Have a great weekend! Thanks for sharing!nt

  8. This dress has nearly stopped my heart–my three favorite colors and one my favorite, classic designers! Thank you.
