Fashion Friday: Bananas for Bonobos.

This Fashion Friday is for the boys in our lives. While out at the driving range yesterday hittin’ a bucket of balls with my little brother Connor, he told me about this company, Bonobos, that claims to make the best fitting pants for men available. Started by two Stanford Business School friends in search of khaki pants that didn’t give them “KDB” (khaki diaper butt-we’ve all seen men with those saggy assed khakis) they created their own fit and sold them to other friends. Well, those friends kept coming back for more and their friends did too, and a company was born!
They come in various fabrics, cuts and colors, all with fantastic, bold print linings to give each pair a real personality, not to mentions names like “Spider Fighters”, “Superfreakanomics” and “Party Starters”! And to add to the charm of this company they call their customer service people “ninjas” and also offer special discounts to those who have chosen to live a life of service, whether you are a firefighter, a teacher or a nurse. Now that is class. And just becasue I love you so dearly, enter the code “elementsofstyle” when you purchase and get 15% off your first order! :)

The classic khaki in the perfect “not too big, not too tight” cut!

No KDB anywhere here! :)

Serious on the outside, party on the inside!

I would think knowing you’ve got red zebra print in your pants would give you an extra boost in a sales meeting!

For the Preppy McPreps- some stripes and bold colors!

This corduroy pair will certainly get the party started with tequila bottle lining!

I also got a few good laughs reading their blog, especially this comparison between their company and my favorite, Lululemon.
Oh, and just in case you needed one more reason to try these pants out, how CUTE are these boys- sorry, ninjas?

  1. That is too funny. Love the party starters. Now, if they can do them in a 37' inseam for my 6'8" hubby we're in bizness.

  2. I agree- I think there should be more inseam choices, as I have a tall, thin hubby who really needs a 33 x 36 pair. I think I read that the wool ones have custom inseams?

  3. Definitely passing this on to the boyfriend… he is always managing to ruin whatever pair he owns.

Also, Erin, I wanted to let you know that I've selected elements of style for the Lovely Blog Award. I know it's no cover story in a magazine, but as I always say, yours is my fave, and I am constantly telling everyone I know they need to read it. I've linked to it from my blog so hopefully you'll be getting even more loyal fans (not like you need 'em!). Thanks for all you do!

    Have a great weekend.

  4. All waist sizes between 28" and 34" come with a 36" inseam and all waist sized 36"+ come with a 38" inseam. Trust me, you don't need to worry about the length on these puppies. The make sure you need to get custom hemming so they look extra-spectacular. Lovin' my Bonobos.

  5. Very cute post and I love those pants, never heard of them.

I do LOVE Lululemon as well and can finally get my fix here in Houston.

  6. Thanks for the kind words, everybody!

The ninjas wanted to chime in and say a big "Thank You" for this post and to offer up our personalized customer service if you feel like you might be interested in trying Bonobos.

Just email us at [email protected] or call 1-877-294-7737.

    We're here to help!

    All the Best,

Ninjas John, Marshall, Christina, Scott, Chris and Dave

  7. These do have a really great fit. Love the blue striped pair – and the linings are so fun :)

  8. Hmm, phenomenal find..I've gotta get my husband into these! He's a bit "lacking" in the behind arena, so perhaps these could help!

  9. those pants are great! and they make those guys' butts look amAzing. heehee. though i'm sure they look amazing anyway…

  10. Unrelated fashion friday question–I seem to remember that you finally found the perfect brown pair of boots last year, but I don't remember what they were. I'm on a quest myself–inspired by brown boots in Andrew Marc ad in last year's Sept Vogue. I don't think Andrew Marc even makes boots, the ad was probably for a leather jacket.
Any suggestions for that perfect pair?
