I really never thought I would ever utter the following sentence: Victoria Beckham’s spring 2010 line is one of my favorites from Fashion Week so far. Yes, Posh Spice- she of the glossy pout, rail thin frame and trendy haircut has put out a classy, sleek, modern line that I would happily wear if asked. (Is anyone asking??) I have always leaned towards classic clothing- great simple lines, solid colors (or all black) with a hint of sex appeal. As one of my friends said to me, “You don’t do ‘cute'”. And I don’t. I’m not one to don girly, frothy things, headbands with bows or a plethora of polka dots. It’s just not “me”- sometimes I want it to be me and I try but it always ends up looking like a costume. So I commend you, Mrs. David Beckham. Hot hubby, hot line- now please just eat a cheeseburger.

I agree. I was impressed and loved her ladylike, classic looks. Bravo Victoria!
Truly, she has handed her critics a little to chew on with this impeccable line.
I wasn’t aware that she had a line. I love it. Now off to google…………………………Thanks
Granted she’s a little on the {slim} side, but she can work up a great dress! I’ve always loved her clothes, so I was thrilled to see photos from her show too! Plus, my favorite pair of jeans are from her denim line.
Sigh…in love…I have always though she is one of the best dressed in Hollywood. Now she is showing the world she’s not just a clothes hanger.
beautiful – guess she told her models to have the posh pout too!
I can SO see these dresses on you Erin! I like the look with the bright blue shoes and black dress. Actually – I would absolutely wear that outfit.
Ya- this line really is gorgeous. I am shocked at how talented she is!
The line is gorgeous…but the models need a couple cheeseburgers too. Ick.
Agreed. And she definitely needs a milkshake on the side!
Love her clothes. If only you didn’t have to be railthin to wear them…
The last line is unnecessary and you should know better, that being said I totally agree.
i was actually quite surprised that i really liked her collection too! i love the almost severe lines, the shape, the simplicity. i was watching ‘the view’ earlier this week and saw she actually designed a dress for jennifer hudson who looked FANTASTIC in it – so she gets more respect from me for designing for womanly figures :) (found a picture: on the model http://bit.ly/yWslt on jennifer hudson:http://bit.ly/dqLbyH)
You are so completely right about this line, stunning, simple, sexy and extravagant all at the same time. Janell
The teal dress is fantastic and I love how very 60’s every model is styled – matching shoes, matching dress, matching shades….
Fantastic!
xx,
Samantha @PrettyLovely
I love it as well! Particularly like the length on these — just below the knee is so flattering, I think. I’m also in love with those electric blue heels.
What I love is that she hasn’t done anything innovative or abstract here, she has stuck to beautiful lines and sexy shapes that have worked on woman for years and she has done it RIGHT. Every piece is beautiful and wearable! Love the line.
You’re right on with this one. Every piece is gorgeous!!
Erin —
I totally am on the same page with the not doing the “cute” thing. Maybe it’s because we’re both tall that it just doesn’t work that well. So many of my friends pull off that simple, sassy, feminine/girly look and I always LOVE it on them… and then I try and just feel ridiculous. I love this new line, and a second the EAT A CHEESEBURGER, dammit!
Posh always looks like a lady, which I like. I did see something somewhere that had J. Lo in one of these dresses and they look even better on curvy women!! woohoo!
p.s. not a fan of the sunglasses on the models. I know you have to do something eyecatching with a fashion show, but….
She had some great pieces. Great show.
I really like Posh, she seems fun and funny, but, yeah, she could do with a cheeseburger or ten.
I’m impressed with the line. Suprisingly so. I was set to dislike it. The models certainly captured her essence.
Love, Love, Love, Love, LOVE it! I have been waiting for something so lady-like and unfussy for so long! Structured and glamorous! I thought that was extinct! Thank goodness, I was wrong!
Hello Erin, I been following your blog for quite some time. I’m not ready to take the plunge just yet, but would love to explore your long distance consulting rates. I need to pull my living room and dining room together and won’t be working on a huge budget, but thought I start the dialogue so that I could work towards a budget. Thanks!
It’s kind of narcissistic to model an entire line after yourself when you were only a pop star in the 90s. Coco Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld are very self referential, but then again, they’re titans.
Do these give out an Audrey Hepburn vibe? Maybe it’s because I watched Breakfast at Tiffany’s on TCM last night.
Pretty…though wouldn’t one have to be very skinny to wear them? They don’t make a Spanx strong enough….
I TOTALLY agree!! I wrote a post about her and her collection this week!!

Oh no, I think you meant to write Fall 2010 instead of Spring 2010. It happens. : )
In the words of Posh, “this is major”.
OMG, that first sentence said it all. I am in awe. those dresses are all Gorgeous! wow! I think i might need to print some of these and put on my inspiration board. ps. make sure you read my post from yesterday, sunshine girl. hint hint….:) K
