Fashion Friday: What I’m Wearing

The other day I came into my studio and was greeted by the lovely Jill Rosenwald (uber-talented potter and studio mate) with a ravishing idea.   She claims that I am a really good dresser (I beg to differ) and thought that it would be a fun idea to post pictures of what I’m wearing on various days of the week on the blog.  She’ll take the pics, and I’ll self-consciously pose for them and then fill you in on the when, where and how much of each item.  I do have fun getting dressed most days- some days I want to look preppy, some days bohemian, some days Jackie O-ish, some days head to toe “i’m pissy” black…. life’s too short to have ONE look and it’s a great way to express yourself! So here’s an outfit from this week… let me know if you like this idea or not!

Jacket– Loeffler Randall bought in 2008. A HUGE splurge for me at $475 (on SALE) but I absolutely loved the cut and the hubs said I looked like Audrey Hepburn in it.  Those are magic words to my ears and sent me running for the register upon hearing them. I get so many compliments on it when I wear it I never have regretting springing for it.

Top– JCrew/ 2007.  Leopard is and always will be a classic!

Jeans– Habitual/ 2009 (marked down to $25 from $200 at Looc) A dream score, a bit tight but for that price how could I not. Plus they ahve the BEST back pocket detail of any jeans ever and have extra long inseams for me when I wear heels!

Heels- Target/ 2010. $20. Enough said.

Necklace– Ann Taylor/ 2010. Love the multi-strand look for so much less than other stores are selling them for!

Bracelet– Ann Taylor Loft/ 2009.  I get more compliments on this $35 woven chain bracelet than any other jewelry I own. I wish i had bought 10.

Bag- Coach Legacy Bag/ 2006. A total classic that I splurged on after quitting my job to start Elements! $650 but timeless and I still love it today (even though when empty it feel like there is a bowling ball in it.)

* Styling tip- for loose waves use a 1.5″ barrel curling iron (Hot Tools is awesome) but DO NOT CLAMP THE ENDS. Take a section of hair and wrap it around a closed barrel and hold for 10 seconds. Repeat. Try not to burn fingers.
