Design Crush: Nina Farmer Interiors

When I quickly perused the new House Beautiful I stopped when I saw one particular spread. I looked closer and found out that the home I was admiring was not only in Boston’s Beacon Hill but the designer was too!  Nina Farmer’s own home is a really interesting mix of modern, traditional and personal. And when I went on her site to peruse her portfolio I found many, many more examples of her amazing work!

Parts of the HB spread (isn’t this first image arresting?)

HB 1

Ahh, the amazing interior architecture of historic Boston brownstones- such an fabulous canvas on which to work! How I crave high ceilings like this!

HB 2

I ADORE ADORE this office space in her kitchen- particularly that rug and those coral peonies! Oh my!

HB 6

I mean…this kitchen. With those windows. And that stove? Can you even?

HB 5

BAM- yup, that’s a skylight with a vintage sputnik light fixture hanging from it.

HB 3

A closer look. My my my.

Her dramatic and moody bedroom swathed in grasscloth with a Room & Board four poster bed.

HB 10

See more of her portfolio after the jump!

The floor on the bathroom at left is KILLER. And I’m not sure what the screen is embedded in this wall at right but I love it.

Can you even fathom a closet like this? I can.

DIE. I’m dead. I’m seriously dead over this kitchen entryway. That door? Are you serious???

I spy a little Jill Rosenwald!

A soothing bedroom.

New-Slide-4

I just LOVE this kid’s room- the orange bookshelf interiors with that rug is just perfection.

The exposed widows show off all the intricate woodwork and that deep turquoise sofa creates a wow factor against the other neutral items and wall color.

This is the palette of my new bathroom (minus the brass framed glass door).

Oh Beacon Hill…..

Another bright, beautiful kitchen.

P-Slide-21

I love the wood interior of this shelving recess and the gorgeous wallpaper right in a powder room.

I have been DYING to use this colored wood grain wallpaper in a kid’s room FOREVER. So fun to see it installed!

New-Slide-13

The coolest, sweetest little girl’s room that doesn’t employ pink or purple!

P-Slide-16

Great, right?

P-Slide-15

A good example of making even the smallest vignettes in your home worth looking at.

P-Slide-17

A simple bath.

Neutral goodness…

A soothing city garden. Can’t wait for SPRING!
