Fashion Friday: Tunics & Hope for Spring

One of my most favorite spring wardrobe staples is the good old preppy/ bohemian classic- tunics! Flattering on nearly everyone, they make getting dressed so super easy and comfortable.  I have two favorite embroidered tunics from J.Crew from literally 8 years ago that I still wear all the time because they are so good (and were made so well and only $98 at the time!) I also have my favorite “fancy” beaded tunic from Tory Burch that I wear with white jeans for summer nights out. I just love them. So here are some of my current favorites as we prepare for spring (it WILL come, I swear).

And speaking of spring, the one thing I am most looking forward to is getting my patio back from the pile of snow it’s under.  As you recall last summer we excavated our back yard and put in a patio thanks to the fab people at Quikrete and Pavestone (and installed by Chris Miller Brick Paving). On Monday we’ll talk all about getting ready for patio season and show you the great “after” images of mine completed! Here’s a little timelapse teaser of the process!

  1. I went a little crazy on tunics recently. Roller rabbit had a sample sale and tunics were $20!!! It wasn’t until I got home that I remembered I live in NYC, not St Barts…

  2. Erin you know what I love, each and every one of these would work in my spring/ summer wardrobe!

    Jay Jeffers, Collected Cool!

  3. Minoxidil is know as the antagonist of 5-alpha-reductase that are able to stimulate follicular growth through various mechanisms, or modulate
the response to certain hormones that promote the
progressive loss of hair. A q tip corrector (not compulsory),
eyebrow enhancer (only if you have light brows).
The detangling effect eliminates the need to use a conditioner, which often
    has a weighing-down effect.

  4. Erin I love your blog and I love your style. I also love your eloquent posts on the fashion industry’s obsession with glorifying extremely thin models. So as a fan I BEG you to acknowledge that size 14 is the average size worn by American women and every so often feature a manufacturer that acknowledges this as well.

  5. I’m a big fan of fitted tunics. At my height I can’t wear the shapeless ones, but when you find a style that cuts in at the waist & can pair with with slim city shorts or white jeans I’m in heaven! Platform wedges finish the look for me… another of my summer “uniforms” I’m not afraid to say I wear all the time. :)

  6. Appreciating the dedication you put into your site and
detailed information you provide. It’s nice to come across a blog every
once in a while that isn’t the same unwanted rehashed material.

Excellent read! I’ve bookmarked your site and I’m adding your RSS feeds to my Google account.

  7. You are a life saver. I’m on prednisone and my new shape is ROUND (well, rounder)…these will help me feel a little better about myself as the weather heats up. Thanks for feeding my soul with beautiful things for my home and person!
