A Quick Post From the Air!

We had a blast last night in Raleigh at Furbish Studio, but had to wake up at 4 a.m. to make out 6:30 a.m. flight to Dallas so we would be there in time for my 11 a.m.-2 p.m. signing at Wisteria (please come, y’all)- which I am currently on!  I am bleary eyed and hopped up on caffeine, and not in my most creative mindset- however, I couldn’t leave you hanging without a post.  So here are some colorful snaps from last night as well as my outfit, which I actually LOVED- this top is heaven- it’s long in the back to cover your bum and loose but not so loose it’s looks maternity. And check out that perfect leopard print. Also, my niece Kate who happens to be the cutest thing ever.

Top: Elizabeth & James “Everly” (on sale today!!!!) // Pants- Helmut Lang // Shoes: Christian Louboutin // Curling Iron (a staple on this tour) // All those awesome pillows: Furbish Studio :)

Kate even asked me to sign a book just for her. :)

And check out the fabulosity that is Furbish! They have about 40 copies left of my book for sale and I signed them all before i left last night, so it’s a great place to pick up a signed copy!

Jaime never disappoints in her creative upholstery and layering of patterns.

BAM- looks at all that! Especially love the wallpaper and those fuzzy stools!

Jaime and crew hanging at the checkout- if you live in the area this shop is a must see!  And that rug– her textile game is ON POINT.

Andrew continues to rock his uniform of blazer/ button down/ jeans.  This pairing has a little fall edge with a textured wool blazer. We’re thinking of starting a feature called “What My Wife Makes Me Wear”….

Blazer: Bonobos // Shirt: Bonobos (killer fit, according to Andrew) // Jeans: Bonobos (again, great fit // Shoes: Too Boot New York (he’s obsessed with them for their sleek dress down/dress up abilities) // Adorable Niece: Kate

  1. Welcome to Texas! Tootsie’s is one of my favorite stores on the planet – enjoy! We don’t have one in Austin, much to my chagrin.

  2. I love that leopard shirt on you! Now I totally want it :). Furbish looks absolutely amazing, it’s one of my favorite online shops and I would love to visit the physical store one day. Looks like you guys had a great time!

  3. The “Save the Date” refers to you as an up and coming designer. I think that’s wrong: you have arrived!

  4. I SERIOUSLY considered driving down to Dallas from Wichita, KS (6 hours away) for your signing but I just have too much project work to do right now. =o( I already have a copy of your book but I would love a signed one. Do you think Furbish would sell one over the phone and ship it?

  5. Hey Erin! My mother-in-law is a designer in a Dallas and she’s going to try and stop by today at your book signing. Wish I could be there myself! Congrats on all of your success so far!!
    xoxo Cappy

  6. I’m so sad that I’m going to miss you at your Houston signing due to work commitments. I’ve been a follower of yours for years, and your blog is the only blog that I must check daily! I love following along though as you do your book tour, so I still feel like I’m getting to join in a little. :) Enjoy every bit of it!! XOXO

  7. Congratulations on all your success. The book is wonderful. I received it on Friday and had a very happy weekend reading it from cover to cover. How luck is your niece, Kate to have such an amazing, awesome Auntie for a role model!!!

  8. So nice to meet you and Andrew today at Wisteria in Dallas. I hope you get some time to enjoy the city during nice weather and of course more importantly, some rest!! Thanks for coming to Dallas!

  9. It is so much fun following along with your journey. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your book, I got mine a few days ago and what I have read so far is fantastic. YOU have done a wonderful job relating design on a personal level that is understandable and applicable in the every day homeowners home. GREAT JOB, ERIN!!

  10. Enjoyed meeting you and Andrew at the Raleigh event. Especially loved seeing the masculine supporting the feminine birthing effort. Andrew was great working the line! It added a lot having him and his family there. I look forward to reading your book. Cheers!

  11. I’m so excited to meet you tonight in Houston!!!!!!!! I LOVE you book and your sarcasm makes me ridiculously happy. Congrats on an amazing book!

  12. Cutest accessory ever- your niece!! And don’t worry- there isn’t a wife out there who doesn’t tell her husband what to wear! Especially if he has shirts left over from the early 90’s! (And yes, I had a fun time cleaning out HIS side of the closet this weekend!) Buh Bye 90’s!
PS- I made my husband buy two of the small check shirts- blue and black! He didn’t like the bigger check- I’ll break him down!
Best of luck to you! Hope you got to go to the Dallas Trade Center!! Swoon!
    -Erin
