Getting dressed during the time between winter and spring can really suck. One day it can be sunny and you don’t even need a jacket and the next you walk out your door and slip and fall on your ass on a patch of ice before you realize how cold it is. They key for dressing in early spring is layers. And right now I’m loving the look of pale, neutral tones in various shades- it keeps you toasty while the light colors signify spring!
I was totally inspired by this shot. The bare legs you need to save for when it’s a BIT warmer, but the silhouette and overall concept are fabulous. The key to this look is to always pair a slim, fitted pencil skirt with something looser and ideally, boxy and slightly cropped (but no tummy showing, please). It shows of your curves without having everything be tight. The mix of textures is key too- smooth wool, chunky knit and suede (which is gonna be so huge for spring and next fall so stock up!)
Here’s a variation on this look that I’m crazy about. If it’s still chilly, layer a beige faux fur vest over the sweater for extra warmth! I NEED this outfit.
Another great look was one I saw on Blair of Atlantic/ Pacific. Another take on the layered neutral tones while still being warm.
And here’s my take on it- a linen coat topping a mesh woven sweater (with a white cami underneath) white jeans and suede boots and a snake printed scarf keeps it interesting but crisp too!
