I’ve been shopping H&M a lot for maternity wear (best jeans EVAH) but had no idea they had such cute home accessories! This will certainly be a new go-to for me for photoshoots and budget friendly decor for projects! hmprod5

    1. Yes! I just ordered from them 2 weeks ago for the first time. Everything is online and the sale section is pretty great.

  1. I’ve know about their home goods section (I think it launched over 2 yrs ago) but I’m skeptical about the quality, so I’ve never bought anything. I’d love to hear your opinion if you end up ordering items.

    1. (forgive me if this is a repeat, had a computer glitch and not sure it this went through!)

I’ve ordered several things from H&M that I love and the quality has been very nice for the price. That said, they are basket/storage pieces. I’ve never ordered textiles from them and am a bit skeptical too (esp. for rugs and towels) but I would like to try their homewares. One note: I’m not sure in the U.S. but here in France things often sell out quickly and they don’t always restock so I would advice grabbing what you think you might like and returning later if need be.

I have also bought from Zara Home (that Amy suggested below) and I love my pieces from them and the textiles are a great quality!

      1. I’ve ordered several rugs from them and a few other little things, but the BEST deal is on the pillow covers! They are amazing. Really high quality and incredibly affordable. Plus they tend to ship fast.

I have that long striped black and white rug in my kitchen which was so cute upon arrival, but the black definitely fades quickly and we have a dog and it is a MAGNET for her hair – even washed it still looks dirty. But in a lower traffic area in a home without pets, it would be great :)

  2. This post is exactly what I needed. Decorating my first apartment on a budget, and I was just about to drop too much on throw pillow covers. Now I don’t have to – THANK YOU!

  3. Wow, I didn’t realize H&M had so many home accents and decor. I’ll definitely have to check it out! Thanks for sharing.

  4. I’ve been stalking them for the mat jeans you recommended (sold out in almost every size!) and while I was on the site I too started stalking their home site! Great pregnant minds, think alike! :-) I want to try their all linen pillow covers and was also thinking about the all linen duvets.

Side note: I ordered the maternity jeans your recommended immediately (because, that’s what I do with your recommendations) and totally forgot that H&M has twig-sized-human sizing, so while I normally would order my normal size for pregnancy stuff, for H&M, you need to order your regular “H&M size”, which for me is 1-2 sizes above my normal size (or what I would order @JCrew, for instance). So, I ordered a 4 and even with the belly accommodation was squeeze in the tush. I returned them hoping to get a 6 or 8 but when I did they were sold out! Doh! Hopefully they will restock.

  5. I learn stuff from you every day! I think that’s the definition of a good blog; shows you something in a new way you’d never considered, or in this case, a whole new source for home! And your commenters are so helpful too; real size vs H&M size. And other sources for cool stuff.

For later in the pregnancy or when Baby Gates arrives , would you consider doing some repeats of your favorite posts? I know there’s lots of good info I’ve missed from early posts.

  6. This is all so cute! Thanks for sharing – I think it will be a good resource. We have had an H&M in Atlanta for years and I’ve never been. I’m going to make a point to go now!

  7. I’ve ordered quite a bit from them – it is ONLY online in the US, you can’t go and see stuff in a physical H&M store. In England though, they have actual sections of the store with homeware stuff and its awesome :) Marble cutting boards!

Pillow covers are great quality, same with blankets. Their pillow inserts ($6-9) are also feather filled not polyester which can be good/bad depending.

Sorry Canadians, no online store, but I believe there’s a physical one somewhere in Alberta? When I lived in Canada it was really frustrating because they don’t even deliver to Canada, only to US addresses.

  8. I have purchased many of their home decor items, from vases to baskets, candles, etc. I also love their pillow covers. Great designs and the quality is pretty great. I go to the home store in NYC on 5th Ave and 48th Street.

  9. Thank you for posting this and to those that remarked about the quality. I’ve saved the site in my decorating folder for further use. Very affordable.

  10. The first thing I do when I get to Washington DC is go to the H&M Home Store. It is great fun, and nothing is too expensive. I have several of their linen duvet covers and I love them. I especially love that they “snap” at the end of the duvet…so easy. They wash beautifully and look perfectly “rumpled” on the bed. Some items might not be the highest quality, but overall I have been very happy with my purchases.
