Fashion Friday: Check Mate.

Gingham is THE pattern of summer- especially this summer. There are so many great pieces out there celebrating this classic print perfect for picnics and sunny shopping trips! Check them out (see what I did there? Ba dum dum.)

  1. I’m more stripes than gingham (who am I kidding? I’m totally Team Stripes). But cute picks anyway. I like the three day posting schedule. Makes the week zip by.

  2. Love the gingham! I’ve definitely got way more stripes in my closet though! I can’t walk by a store that has a striped shirt in the window (ahem JCrew) and not go in and maybe, perhaps buy one or two! Then when I look around my house, it seems my closet and house are twinning in the stripes departments! As I type this, I am coming to the conclusion I have a serious stripe addiction! ?

  3. Coming from the South – I want to live in gingham and seersucker in August. Great post and a reminder that summer is coming!

  4. Erin, gingham and stripes are two of my go-to patterns. If you saw my house and my closet you would see I am pretty consistent in what I love. I bought a gingham dress a couple of season’s ago from Boden in and black and white check and love it. No one was showing too many checks at the time, but I did not care it is a pattern I have worn for years. Love the top you said is a bit frumpy is one I pinned last week and I thought it was adorable, but not with the matching shorts like you said, with white jeans for sure. Always love your fashion post. In fact because of your post I found the perfect white blouse for my DIL’s birthday from Boden, which is one of my go-to places to look online, always find something I love there! Keep up the good work and thank you again for always inspiring this lady of a certain age!!

  5. I can’t believe you didn’t include the head-to-toe gingham pants suit that J.Crew so proudly featured last month! ;)

  6. I just can’t get on the gingham bandwagon. It’s cute for little ones but i’m 48. Just no.

    1. You’re not too old for gingham! I’m 45 and I still love a gingham long-sleeved shirt with jeans – so cute! I like my checks smaller rather than bigger, though. Gingham shorts are a yes, too – cute with a cotton tunic and wedges.

  7. That throwback photo of you and Andrew…

Who projects that kind of shit onto their child? We get it (believe me)…you weren’t a naturally pretty girl. But Andrew? He was a cute and normal looking kid, Erin. Why must you project your own insecurities about your looks onto a BABY? Did you ever think that just maybe Henry might take after his daddy in the looks department? He may turn out to be a very handsome young man. Or was that a backwards dig on your husband? If so, that’s just strange. My husband’s very handsome and I’m proud to be his wife. And our children? A perfect, beautiful mix of us both.

I’m beginning to think you’re fifty shades of crazy. Only way I can wrap my head around all the projection going on with your baby’s looks. It’s constant. You may not see it, but your audience does. Try thinking the best about your who child will become instead of focusing on everything that could go wrong in the world according to Erin. He’s not a mini-you. He’s a combination of you both. Geesh!

    1. WOW Hilary L. you have no sense of humor! Those throwback pictures of Erin and her husband were hilarious and gave me a good laugh (which was the intention-duh). Henry is he as handsome as can be and clearly Erin and anyone else with eyeballs can see this so it is ridiculous to infer she has any fears he will evolve into anything but a handsome young man. Why must people like you try to take a humorous, lighthearted post and try to turn it into something ugly and unleash a personal attack on Erin? You need to lighten up, just sayin’…..BTW, keep on keeping on Erin!

      1. Erin projects. Because she’s a narcissist. A very, very, VERY insecure narcissist. You have to be blind not to see that.

      2. Thank you, Dr. Jane, for your professional opinion. Seriously, don’t you people have something better to do than spread hate on the Internet? What is with all these grown-ass women being cyber bullies? C’mon ladies, we’re better than that.

    2. Can we please PLEASE stop with this hating? If you’re not an Erin fan, read a different blog! Don’t troll around watching for moments to pounce! Yuck.

    3. What’s really sad is you feeling the need to come on here and get up on your soapbox over a JOKE. I’m not projecting shit- I’m teasing myself and my husband because we have a healthy sense of humor. If you think I’m crazy, feel free to STOP FOLLOWING MY EVERY MOVE!

    4. Hilary L., wow! What a hateful sorry person you portray yourself to be!! I’m glad you are proud to be a wife and found someone that was willing to marry you. It was probably some feet. Hope he sticks around, I wouldn’t.

  8. WOW this is so timely — i was at the Boston Design Center yesterday and noticed this uber chic woman wearing a lime green gingham blouse, that looked SO cute and i’ve been on the hunt for since then. Thanks! love gingham.
