Right now Shopbop is having an awesome sale on almost everything on their site- 20% off your $500 or under purchase and 25% off your purchase of $500 and up! Now is the time to get those pricier staples you’ve been needing- a well made cashmere sweater, a beautiful fall/winter coat, another pair of your fave jeans, thos eleather pants you’ve always wanted or a classic bag you’ve been eying. Sales like this are the PERFECT time to stock your closet with staples that you will wear forever (sine most of the time these things are not on sale!) Here are my picks for essentials for your closet that are still in stock on the site. The sale ends tonight at midnight so hurry! :)
I have been really excited by all the more accessible alternatives to 1st Dibs that have popped up online these days. Especially those that not only offer vintage and antique goods but also showroom floor samples as well. It’s a BRILLIANT was to score designer goods in awesome condition for a fraction of the price. All three of these sources have been go-to’s for us in my office and I wanted to share them in case you guys weren’t aware of the killer wares you can score with a little digging!
Viyet is the most high end, specializing in showroom samples but also selling some vintage goods as well. The selection is amazing, and if you are lusting after a specific designer item I would check here before splurging to see if they have a sample that is for sale for much less than brand new.
I got a little rage-y this weekend with it being late September and yet 87 degrees and humid out. But I know one of these days fall will come, and when it does I will be ready. The change of seasons always inspired me to freshen things up a bit and swap some things out that feel more seasonally appropriate (although you will never find any season-themed pillows on my sofa!) You can update your spaces for fall without going all “pumpkin spice latte explosion”. Here are some items that add texture and richness without color (and really- most work any time of year!) I also like to go around and freshen up any dingy paint and get my rugs and upholstery cleaned. It makes the house feel SO much nicer!
I think we can all agree that the reign of the Fiddle Leaf Fig tree is coming to an end. Which I am thrilled about because I cannot keep one alive and the fake ones all look pretty fake. This tree is faux, but looks very natural (and is very tall) and I love the lighter feel of it. Buy a very high quality faux tree once and save yourself the headache of the buy/kill/buy/kill cycle of real trees. Just be sure to dust them. :)
I’m home sick today, but did not want to leave y’all hanging on a Friday! Last week I had the honor of being one of this year’s recipients of New England Home Magazine’s 5 Under 40 Awards for Interior Design. I shared some pics on Instagram, and lots of you asked about my outfit. I chose this grey dress by Badgley Mischka that felt elegant but not TOO formal. I also loved the high neckline and the fact that it had sleeves (not a big fan of my arms). It’s a great silhouette, and I got lots of compliments.
This dress comes in black, blue and white and is perfect for anything from a cocktail party to a work event to a wedding. And speaking of weddings, it also comes in a long option that I think would be an amazing casual wedding dress!
I saw these pictures of Tory Burch’s Paris Flagship the other day and loved the modern-meets-Granny-chic look of it. It’s glossy and glam but then also traditional and feminine. I thought it would make the perfect inspiration for an amazing bedroom design.
