I have total litestyle ADD. I love that we live in a suburb close to the city in which we are walking distance from everything– coffee, restaurants, my office and the subway. But I TOTALLY hallucinate/ dream of a life in more of a country setting… would I be able to deal? I think so. Especially if there were miniature farm animals involved. But for now I’ll just have to follow the work of designers living that life or design for that life. Here are two I am totally inspired by:
I LOVE following Cynthia Weber Design on Instagram– her little situation up in Canada is the stuff my dreams are made of. Historic stone house? Check. Miniature horses? Check. Gorgeous country-chic interiors? Check.
I have a massive design crush on her entryway ALONE!
I’m so excited to share with you guys that my newest collection of designs from M. Flynn has launched this week and to celebrate we’re having a party with some other fun friends! So pop by next Thursday for some sips, snacks and early holiday shopping (or to add things to YOUR holiday list!) My whole collection will be here to try on and shop if you’ve been curious and not able to make it into the South End. (Also you can see our new studio space and shop other awesome stuff….keep reading!) RSVP HERE.
One of my most favorite pieces is this small ball locket…. done spotted with diamonds (above on the invite) or with a diamond bail. worn on a short or long chain it’s simply awesome.
I will admit, this bride has been a blog reader in the past (not sure if she still is now) and we’re friends on Facebook because of that. And when I clicked on a link to her wedding she posted this week I was bowled over. Like, yelled out loud “holy sh*t!” as I scrolled through the pictures by Jose Villa on Martha Stewart Weddings. Talk about the most dreamy, fall wedding there ever was. As a wannabe/frustrated wedding planner (I considered the career for about a minute after getting married) I love inspecting all the details that go into events like this. They relate greatly to interiors too– see the end of my post for a holiday tablescape based on this wedding!
Susie Homemaker I am not (it may be pretty, but not always tidy), but there are some little gadgets we have at home that really are amazing at making life easier and that I see as really valuable investments in our hectic, busy lives. I thought I’d share them here in case perhaps you needed recommendations or have your own life-saving device to enlighten us all about!
I hesitated to buy this Dyson cordless hand vacuum for a long time and tried cheaper versions that sucked (or actually, didn’t suck!) This thing is AMAZING. It acts as a dust-buster and powerful vacuum all in one- amazing for easy cleanups or a quick clean before company comes. INCREDIBLE if you have kids and dogs. I have clients who keep one on every floor of their house. For my smaller house, one is fine. :)
Last fall and winter I wore this Gap jacquard funnel neck sweatshirt TO DEATH. I have navy and olive versions and anytime it was freezing or I just wanted to feel comfy but cute I wore one. With jeans. With leggings. Everything! So I was so thrilled when they re-issued them this fall! I already bought black and grey and am thinking about the pink and brown too! I know, it seems crazy but they are 40% off right now and I really love them that much. I was stopped by a woman this week who HAD to know where I got the one I was wearing.
Did I mention they have pockets??? And the perfect tall turtleneck to hide in?
