There are some people who are just SO talented you can’t believe one individual can house so much good taste and skill. William McLure is one of those people. I just cannot get enough not only of his incredible abstract paintings but also his interiors! Especially his own apartments. And he appears to be very young (with a little bit of a Zac Efron thing going on to boot…) so I can’t wait to see what else he does in his career. And I’m absolutely looking to use his work in some of my projects- it’s fantastic.
This was his last place and it is INCREDIBLE- the layering, the mix of simplicity and detail and layering is really masterful
I spotted Renee’s work on Instagram and have loved it ever since. It’s beautifully composed and the perfect way to add a pop of abstract pattern and color to a space. Check out her work on her site and below!
LOVE these smaller works on paper framed in gold! Just gorgeous!!!
This week I received the most INCREDIBLE gift for Henry that I had to share. People have been so overwhelmingly generous and kind in thinking of my little guy, especially people I don’t even know like Holly Johnson of Cheeky Monkey Home. When I unwrapped this pillow I nearly fell over- especially when I turned it around and saw the incredible stitching of Henry’s name and birth information on the back! Made of the most luxurious merino wool felt, I knew the minute I touched this pillow that it was a true work of art. I was so touched and am going to treasure it forever.
I finally got a minute to sit and read the new Domino while Henry took a nap and saw the work of artist Mary Nelson Sinclair and loved it. Probably because it has such a strong Cy Twombly vibe (whom I LOVE). I know people will think “I can do that! It’s just scribbles!”- I dare you to give it a try! It’s SO hard to do abstract art (I’ve said this a zillion times before, I know, but I fear it must bear repeating!)
Here is a piece of hers in her cool apartment:
I found the work of photographer and stylist Kara Rosenlund on Pinterest (where else?) and really am loving the casual, textural feel of her work. There’s something about summer that makes you want to just paint everything white, cover everything in linen and breathe. Her images kind of capture that feeling for me!
