Mark Sikes is a decorator’s decorator. I would hire him in a minute to do my own house without question and let him just go to town. I imagine we’d have a Chip-and Joanna reveal and I would cry and hug him and all would be right in the world.
I saw some bedding I loved on Williams Sonoma Home and it inspired me to create a high/low guest room look illustrating how it’s possible to get the same style for less than half the cost. (Side note: These side tables in the low version are from Target’s new collection and come in white too- love the faux bamboo leg!)
Sorry this is so late you guys- between my renovation, Henry, work and LIFE I’ve been running behind on everything for the past few days. Which I hate. But at least I’m showing up, right? :)
So I saw this picture on Susanna Salk’s instagram last week (btw her new book about dogs and their designers looks so awesome)- and I just fell in love. It’s an old image from Elle Decor’s 2010 Showhouse and this space is by Suzanne Tucker….and it’s so damn charming. Granny-chic is making a fast and furious comeback in a BIG way these days (more on that another day) and this room is a great mix of that and some more modern colors. I’d love this kind of scheme for a tween/teen girls room. The beds are killer (probably vintage) but I found some nice alternates below.
After a long day, there is nothing more relaxing than getting into a bed with nice, crisp bedding on it. I have come to really appreciate nice bedding, but don’t have the budget for the super fancy stuff (also, I have two dirty dogs who sleep in bed with me). I’ve become a big fan of Crane & Canopy bedding, who is now a sponsor of EOS, for their amazing quality and unique features. As you may recall we redid my guest room with their bedding (see post here) and now I sometimes sleep in the guest room just because the sheets and duvet feel so nice (and also as a mini break from said dirty dogs and big husband hogging the bed).
An easy way to perk up your bedroom for spring and summer is with fresh new linens. I rarely use a complete matching set (it reminds me of 90’s “Bed-in-a-Bags”) but rather mix different kinds of shams, duvets, quilts and pillows. Here are a few schemes I pulled together that say “SUMMER” to me!
