I’m excited to share that in the next month or two we are going to reveal a revamped EOS site. It’s overdue and much needed and I’m excited to be working with Hanna Seabrook of Gadabout (who did our new company website) on this makeover. Along with it, I’m hoping to launch a few new features and series on the blog, one of which I hope you will be excited about.
We’re calling it “Style Solutions”, and once a month I will pick a reader design dilemma to solve. Maybe you have no idea how to lay out furniture in an oddly spaced room, or perhaps you got a new sofa and don’t know what rug and pillows to pair with it, or maybe you need help picking complimentary paint colors for a few spaces. Basically, any conundrum you face about your own space is game, minus designing a whole room for you. If we get a few questions in the same vein, we may do a themed post. Or maybe one month we do fashion dilemmas! Basically, it’s up to you guys– but I want to offer some real designer advice that I think may help everyone!
So send your questions and frustrating dilemmas to [email protected] and we’ll be doing our first installment in August! If your question is about space planning, please include sketches or drawings and with any of the questions please include pictures or links to specific products.
If there are any other features for the new site you’d like (from a search function to a way to shop, to a type of column), leave a comment here!

Somehow, someway this week marks my ten year anniversary of blogging. A DECADE of my blathering and pontificating on all things design, fashion and life. 3,202 posts to be exact if you can believe it!!! Starting as a clueless 27 year old with NO idea what to do with her life to now- an established designer with a legit business, a New York Times bestselling book (and another in the works), product lines, a BABY, a house and more amazing projects under my belt than I ever thought possible- I am rendered pretty speechless when looking back over the past ten years.
I never really take the time to step back and admire at what has happened over the past decade, but HOLY HELL, what a ride!!!! It’s actually pretty amazing. And I feel so lucky and so content with what I have built that I can be nothing but filled to the brim with pure gratitude today. It hasn’t been easy, I’ve worked hard to build this life, but it has been fulfilling, inspiring and fascinating.
I’ve been trying to think about my favorite posts and moments from over these 10 years– beyond all the design posts (mine, others, fashion, interiors, exteriors…), so many of the biggest moments in my adult life have been chronicled here. From my first post (followed by months and months of posts with 1-2 comments) to….
*Being on the cover of the Boston Globe Magazine (no other press has been as game changing as this feature- its how I found Lindsey, whose been with me 7 years, to MANY of my clients for years!)
Our move into our new (amazing) space on Monday has us ready to clean house- so here are a bunch of our own items for sale as well as some great client items as well. E-mail [email protected] to purchase or with questions! Most items are pick up only!
I’ll admit that I don’t read many blog anymore due to my insane schedule- and like a lot of you probably do- when my work day is over I want to something not work related. But when I do find time, I go right to the long-time partners in the blog trenches whose work I really admire. Emily Henderson is one of those people. I LOVE her. Her sunny smile, disposition, funny voice and amazing talent are what makes her the superstar she is. So I was not surprised when I heard she was doing a book and knew it would be just as awesome as she is. (And she managed not only to release Styled, her fun, fab new book but also give birth to her daughter all in the same time frame!
What I love about design is how different we all do it. Emily’s colorful, California cool vibe is so different from what I do day-to-day but I adore it. You know when you look at images of spaces so different from your own and think “Man, I want to live like THAT! I would be so much cooler if my house was like that one!” :) That’s how I feel about the spaces in Emily’s book.
And it’s a mix of spaces by different designers that look cohesive due to Emily’s ninja styling skills. This book is more about styling your space, not top to bottom design. Basically, how to get your space to look as “done” as those you see in magazines. I think that last 10% of design (the styling) tends to be the hardest for people to do- which is what makes this book handy!
Having been through the book process I know what it’s like to have to pick certain images to use and others that you have to trash. It’s painful! You have all these fantastic shots but for one reason or another some end up on the cutting room floor. Emily sent over these exclusive outtakes from her book editing process- ones that didn’t make it in but that she still loves.
This one is SO good- can you imagine sitting her with a glass of wine after a long day and looking at a magazine or chatting with friends? DIE.

I just have to say how incredibly grateful and overwhelmed Andrew and I both are from all your wonderful comments and well wishes yesterday regarding our big baby news. I spend a whole lot of time reading each and every one and am so amazed by the incredible community this blog has built from all you wonderful readers. It was especially lovely to hear from longtime readers who had never commented and those of you who live both near a very, very far!
I also want to say a special thanks to those of you who shared your own infertility stories, worries, concerns and info on what it’s like being the momma to BOYS. :) I know that I will lean heavily on your wisdom and guidance when trekking through these unchartered waters in the next 5 1/2 months (oh, and for the next, say , 18 years???) I also plan to crowd-source lots of great info from you on everything from strollers to swaddling to sleeping. It’s so fantastic to have access to so many women who know so much about motherhood!
And yes, I plan to share ALL my nursery plans once I get started on it (I plan to wait on that until after my 18 week appointment just because I’m being extra cautious about this whole process). And there will be plenty of maternity style posts once I’m actually IN maternity clothes (I am feeling grateful for the first time in my life for my crazy long torso- but I’m not sure what to do with these BOOBS!?) And there will be a lot of writing about pregnancy and all my fears and joys as I go through this (fingers crossed). But don’t worry- this isn’t going to turn into a mommy blog. I plan on keeping the focus on style, interiors and lots of things that non-pregnant people can wear! :)
Yesterday was a whirlwind that consumed me, so that’s all for today. Just a big thank you. Back to all things interiors tomorrow :)
Much Love & Respect,
