MyHabit & J.Crew Winner!

I thought I knew about every flash sale site on the planet- but alas, I did not. I was just introduced to MyHabit, Amazon’s home and fashion site this week and I’ve already found some killer stuff in just a couple days! Here are some of the things that caught my eye this week-

I am LOVE LOVE LOVING this pink ottoman paired with this insanely awesome gold mirror!

If you have bookshelves you need ceramic horse bookends (of course), and this little sweet writing desk is great for a small apartment!

That little stool is covered in a VERY pricey Kelly Wearstler fabric and was priced cheaper than 2 yards of just the fabric!

Team EGD’s Summer Picks!

My company may be called Erin Gates Design, but it’s certainly isn’t a one woman show.  I have two awesome ladies helping me out- my right hand woman Lindsey, whose been with me over three years and does anything and everything (I like to refer to her as “the unicorn” because she can do billing and design a room with equal skill, which is rare).  And recently we welcomed Allison to the team to assist with lots of stuff as well as helping get this books done. She is also a blogger, so pop on over to her site too!

Both these ladies have great taste and so I wanted to start sharing what is on THEIR wishlists these days! I pretty much also want everything they do, so it goes to show our team is on the same wavelength!

Sofa Splendor

I must have been living under a rock not to know about I guess I never thought such a simplistic web address would hold such a stylish selection of sofas! A lesson to never judge a link by it’s….title? Anywhoo- the photo styling is so killer and the fabric selection looks pretty amazing (I ordered some and will report back). Had to pass this source along!

(I’m kind of dying over this picture)

There are chairs and ottomans too…

How FUN is this fabric?

And this?

And some fun throw pillows!

Setting the Table with Zara Home

I know every blogger and her mother posted about the new Zara Home launch yesterday and I hate to be redundant, but I had to post about the one section of the site I love- the tableware!  I really love all the gold accents offered as well as the mix of traditional and modern styles.  As I started playing around with the offerings I got an image of one of my favorite dining rooms in my head. Something about scenic wallpaper makes me weak int he knees….

So here’s a fun table setting based on this traditional look, all from the new Zara Home! (I need those horse glasses for my bar!) No need to wallpaper when you can get a hint of the look through placemats (and I was tempted to throw in some leopard napkins too….)  A perfect looks for a less expected looking Thanksgiving table, no?

1./ 2./ 3./ 4./ 5./ 6./ 7./ 8./ 9.

I’d do a centerpiece like these….

Kerri Russell & ABC Home

I really loved the laid back approachability of Kerri Russell’s Brooklyn home as shown in the current Elle Decor.  Not only is the raw space amazing (are you SEEING that molding in the living room?) but also the fact that she mixed goods from high end showrooms (like those insane Ochre chandeliers I would murder for) with stuff hand made by her husband from wood reclaimed from barns and dumpsters! I’ve been saying for months that if I finally do buy my home, I am doing everything in white, black, grey and natural wood. A clean, crisp but relaxing scheme that will give me respite from my days spent with dizzying pattern and color.  This home is such an inspiration for me!

The images of her home (and the resource lists) reminded me of my trip to ABC Carpet and Home during Blogfest.  If I had a gun to my head and had to decide on one place to decorate my house right now I’d pick ABC (and then I’d ninja kick whomever was decor-assaulting me).  Seriously, ABC is my version of Mecca and if you haven’t gone you really, really must make a pilgrimage!

A snapped just a couple things while there…like this amazing venetian glass chandelier that was the lightest of blues (and $10k)

And this beyond fabulous John Derian bench with small back and this dining table I would sell my soul for…

A nice collection of cloche jars and stone accents…

Beakers and drawers…

Such an amazing color combo- navy, blush, taupe and cream. Inspired to design a room around this…

GOLD flatware, how I love thee….

How about these pink chairs up in Madeline Weinrib’s showroom? Uh-huh.

Here’s some of my favorite things shown on their website:
