I could not be more excited to FINALLY share this sneak peek into my new home accessories collection, ELEMENTS by Erin Gates, that has been in the works for about a year now! I am so, so honored to work with a brilliant, thoughtful licensing company that not only really cares about the quality of whats going out into the market with my name on it but also gave me a ton of creative control which isn’t always the case when it comes to licensing. It was super important to me that everything be affordable but still of good quality (for example- the pillows have down inserts and intricate details like trim and embroidery and are still $48-$68!) I felt like a lot of affordable home decor is super trendy- for example, I could not find greek key bordered solid velvet pillows for under $100 to save my life- and so I wanted to create a line that had that classic, timeless style but with a modern edge. In other words, things that will LAST. The pillows, poufs, candles, baskets and throws will be for sale October 5th on Wayfair and AllModern! The lighting will be released closer to the beginning of December. Of course, I will keep you updated here with any and all new releases. Here is just some of the collection (there are some more things I’ll show on the release date!)
Below is a great navy grouping- the lamp, baskets, pillows, throw and pouf (which is big and firm enough to actually sit on or use as an ottoman) are all from the collection!
It’s that time again, and this might be the best blog tag sale EVER. It’s a big one so peruse away and please e-mail me [email protected] if you see anything you want. I will put you in tough with the seller (or help you myself if it’s my stuff!) Large items for pick up only in most cases- smaller items can be shipped. Some sellers willing to discuss shipping quotes. Here we go!
Original painting by yours truly. Really put my bachelors degree to work on this one and while I think it’s the best one I’ve done in a long time, I’m going a new direction in this room. 36″ square. $500 SOLD
One pair of custom Parisian pleat drapes with Samuel & Sons Green Key trim. Approx 87″ to top of pleats. $400 SOLD
This beauty that was on the cover of my book. I feel somewhat bad selling this, but it’s had it’s day in my home and now can help make someone else’s home spectacular. Antique frame so the paint has some chipping, re-upholstered in pieced linen fabrics. $950 SOLD
I received a preview copy of Mark Sikes new book Beautiful on Friday and spent a lot of time absolutely going gaga over every page in this stunning book. There are only a couple of designers I would hire to do my own house if I could (because doing my own house is so hard for me) and it’s Mark Sikes or Steven Gambrel, no question. I am planning a little refresh of a couple rooms in my house and this book gave me SUCH inspiration to get moving and clarify what I want to do.
After reading many of your comments yesterday about the brand I had blogged about I decided to pull the post down. I never, ever want to recommend a company that has poor customer service and a sub-par product. To be honest, I saw their site and wares and like many, were duped into thinking they were a great, budget-friendly find. Sounds like that is not the case, and it was an important lesson to me as a blogger to always, ALWAYS do some research before posting any vendor if I do not have personal experience with them or their goods. I’ve been trying to find more affordable things to share with you after many of you requested to see stuff at a more accessible price point- and that is where the internet becomes tricky. There are a lot of bad companies out there with cute sites and great deals that look very enticing, but are pretty much a scam. I would be pissed if I spend hard earned money on something that turned out to be junk, so my apologies for letting you down in this way. I’ll stick to tried and true places like H&M, LOFT and Zara from now on. :)
Now don’t freak out if you did order something because for all the bad reviews, I’ve seen some very happy customer reviews too. There were just too many negative personal stories in the comments for me to leave the post up. If you have any trouble with your order or return please email me [email protected] and I will do my best to help you get a resolution (sometimes the power of a larger social media following can help get resolutions fast- sad, but true).
However, I did love the outfit I had pulled together so here is a new version swapping in some goods from vendors I do have experience with! Happy weekend readers.
